The Human Condition

I have been on the front lines of the human condition for almost 20 yrs.
I have seen the best and worst of the medical system, doctors, nurses and paramedics.
I have seen the public do wonderful and horrible things to themselves and each other, sometimes for the most inane reasons.
The human condition crosses all barriers–race, creed, finances and geography.
People are capable of great and terrible choices; people are selfish and unselfish; they are blind to their faults and have clarity.
I have borne deep frustration and anger in past years until reaching a point of accepting that one can only help those who wish to be helped and educate those who wish to learn.
Every person is responsible for their choices in life and must be their own best advocate while extending their hand to their neighbor.
